If you’re getting ready to visit Norwood Dental Care for the first time, you may be feeling a range of emotions — from excitement to slight nerves. No matter how long it has been since you last had your teeth examined, Dr. John Michaels and our team treat each patient with a warm, friendly, non-judgmental approach. We’re always happy when you decide to come in to care for your oral health!
Taking the time to learn what you can expect from your new dentist is a good idea. Keep reading to learn more about the new patient experience at Norwood Dental Care.
Making the First Visit Easier
To make sure you speed through the brief registration period during the first visit without any unnecessary delays, it helps to take some time to fill out the new patient paperwork beforehand and bring it in with you to your appointment.
If you have dental insurance, bring a copy of your card with you to the visit. We will record your information and perform a verification of benefits to determine just what you are eligible for. Later, we will file, process, and follow up on your claims to ensure you receive the discounts you are eligible for.
Please also bring a list of any medications you are currently taking. We will need to have a complete picture of your overall health to understand how we can best serve your smile!
Your First Exam
After we have received all of your forms and any dental insurance/medication information, we will escort you back to one of our examination rooms. Here, you will talk to your dental hygienist and/or Dr. Michaels about your oral health. Have you been experiencing any pain lately? What about sensitivity? And what are your overall smile goals — just maintenance, or would you like to find out about your cosmetic treatment options? Having this information will help us put together an effective overall treatment plan.
When it’s time to get to work, your hygienist will remove all plaque and tartar buildup to help you enjoy that clean feeling we all love after a visit to the dentist. Then, your family dentist in Norwood will come in and take a look for signs of any cavities, worn dental work, and other potential issues. If a problem does exist, we will put together a plan to help you get the treatment you need as soon as possible.
We’re Now Accepting New Patients!
If you’re busy searching for a “dentist near me,” you’ve found us here at Norwood Dental Care! We’re pleased to be accepting new patients, just like you and your loved ones. Dr. Michaels and our team can’t wait to help you enjoy a clean, healthy smile for life!
